Have a plan in place for contacting all of your family members and a pre-arranged place to meet if that is necessary.  Remember that in a large-scale emergency, phone lines and cell towers may be out or overloaded.  Consider getting your HAM Radio license, which may be the only way to communicate with the outside world.

Family Member Contact Information Include phone numbers (wired, cell, pages, etc.) along with work and school locations and anything else that will help you contact each other after a disaster.

Out of Area Contact Information Identify a friend or relative that lives outside the South Skyline Area and/or the Bay Area.  Use them as a contact point if other means of contacting your family are not working.  Since phones are likely to be overloaded, call this out-of-the-area person as soon as possible after a disaster strikes and ask that they help notify other family members with your status.  Let them know how you and other family members are, where you are located and what your plans will be for the next 24 – 48 hours.
