Other Hazards

While wildland fire, earthquake, and winter storms are the most likely disasters to strike our community, other hazards can also occur: hazardous material releases, pandemic disease, terrorism, and more.

The good news: the preparation you do for our primary hazards — a disaster supplies kit, a family communication plan, and an evacuation plan — serves you well in these other scenarios as well.

For most of these events, local emergency services augmented by mutual aid from neighboring communities can respond without needing CERT activation. Stay informed through county alerts, mailing lists, and Ham radio for the latest information.
